1. Introduction

Paid To Read Books Club (“the Site”) is owned and operated by MMT Productions, located in Ontario, Canada.

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of PaidToReadBooks.club, including all books, services, rewards programs, content, features, and functionality made available through the Site.

Throughout these Terms of Use, references to “Paid To Read Books Club,” “the Site,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Paid To Read Books Club and its operator, MMT Productions.

By accessing, registering for, or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Site.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to register for or use the Site.

By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old;
  • All information you provide is truthful and accurate;
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

The Site reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account found to be in violation of these requirements.

3. Registration Requirements

To participate in the Site, members must:

  • Use their legal first and last name;
  • Provide accurate registration information;
  • Maintain a valid email address;
  • Maintain a valid physical mailing address;
  • Not use a PO Box as their primary address;
  • Maintain a valid Goodreads account;
  • Provide a valid Goodreads profile URL during registration.

The Site reserves the right to verify any information provided.

Registration may be denied or revoked if any information is false, misleading, incomplete, or cannot be verified.

4. Email Verification and Security

The Site uses email-based verification and one-time password (OTP) security procedures.

Members must be capable of receiving emails from the Site.

Email verification may be required for:

  • Account registration;
  • Login authentication;
  • Password recovery;
  • Account changes;
  • Payout requests;
  • Security verification.

Failure to maintain a functioning email address may result in loss of access to Site services.

5. Goodreads Account Requirements

All members must maintain a valid Goodreads account throughout their participation in the program.

The Goodreads account associated with a member profile forms part of the Site’s identity verification and anti-fraud systems.

Changes to Goodreads profile information may only be made following review and approval by the Site.

The Site may deny any request to change Goodreads information at its sole discretion.

6. One Account Per Person

Each member may maintain only one account.

Members may not:

  • Create multiple accounts;
  • Use another person’s account;
  • Share accounts;
  • Sell or transfer accounts;
  • Circumvent restrictions by creating additional accounts.

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of all unredeemed credits.

7. Prohibited Technologies

The use of VPN services, proxy servers, anonymizing services, IP masking tools, or similar technologies is prohibited.

The Site may utilize automated and manual systems to identify such usage.

Accounts suspected of violating this provision may be denied registration, suspended, terminated, or subjected to additional verification requirements.

8. Book Claims

Members may maintain only one active book claim at a time.

A member may not claim another book until the existing claim has been completed, expired, removed by administration, or otherwise resolved.

Book availability is limited.

The Site does not guarantee access to any particular book or review opportunity.

9. Review Requirements

Members who claim a book are granted seven (7) days to complete the review requirements.

A qualifying review consists of either:

  • A review posted on Goodreads and submitted through the Site; or
  • An original written review containing at least 600 words submitted through the Site.

Reviews submitted directly to the Site containing fewer than 600 words will not be accepted.

The Site shall be the sole authority in determining whether a submitted review satisfies program requirements.

10. Honest Reviews

Members are encouraged to provide honest and genuine reviews.

Positive reviews are not required.

Members may submit positive, neutral, or negative reviews provided the review reflects their genuine opinion and experience with the book.

False, misleading, fabricated, or dishonest reviews are prohibited.

11. Artificial Intelligence Prohibition

All reviews and written submissions must be the member’s original work.

The use of artificial intelligence tools to generate, rewrite, expand, summarize, edit, or otherwise assist in the creation of review content is prohibited.

Submission of AI-generated or AI-assisted content may result in:

  • Review rejection;
  • Loss of credits;
  • Strikes;
  • Account suspension;
  • Permanent account termination.

12. Failure to Complete Reviews

Failure to submit a qualifying review within seven (7) days may result in:

  • Expiration of the claim;
  • Return of the review opportunity to the available pool;
  • Assessment of a strike;
  • Restrictions on future book claims;
  • Suspension or termination of account privileges.

Repeated violations may result in permanent removal from the program.

13. Credits and Rewards

Credits earned through the Site:

  • Have no cash value;
  • Are not currency;
  • Are non-transferable;
  • May not be sold, gifted, traded, or assigned.

Credits may be redeemed according to the reward options available through the Site.

Current redemption rates are:

  • Amazon Gift Card: 1 Credit = $1.00 CAD
  • PayPal: 1 Credit = $0.80 CAD

The minimum balance required for redemption is fifty (50) credits.

14. Changes to Credit Values

The Site reserves the right to modify credit values associated with future review opportunities.

However, once a member has claimed a book, the credit value displayed at the time of the claim shall remain associated with that claim and will be awarded upon successful completion of the review requirements.

15. Payouts and Fraud Prevention

The Site reserves the right to delay, deny, suspend, investigate, or cancel payout requests where fraud, abuse, security concerns, or policy violations are suspected.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Multiple accounts;
  • False registration information;
  • Shared EPUB files;
  • AI-generated reviews;
  • Plagiarism;
  • Manipulation of the rewards system.

Payout-related information changes may require additional verification and waiting periods before becoming effective.

16. Account Closure and Credit Forfeiture

If a member closes their account, abandons their account, or has their account terminated, all unused, unredeemed, unpaid, or pending credits shall be immediately forfeited.

Credits shall not be transferred, refunded, or paid out following account closure.

17. Intellectual Property

All books, EPUB files, cover images, descriptions, metadata, and related materials remain the intellectual property of their respective authors, publishers, licensors, or rights holders.

Members receive only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to access and review books through the Site.

No ownership rights are transferred to members.

18. EPUB File Restrictions

EPUB files provided through the Site are for the registered member’s personal use only.

Members may not:

  • Share EPUB files;
  • Upload EPUB files;
  • Distribute EPUB files;
  • Sell EPUB files;
  • Lend EPUB files;
  • Publish EPUB files online.

To assist with copyright protection and anti-piracy efforts, EPUB files may contain identifying information including the member’s name and email address.

Unauthorized distribution may result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of all credits.

19. Review Ownership and Usage Rights

Members retain ownership of reviews they create.

By submitting a review through the Site, members grant Paid To Read Books Club, authors, publishers, and rights holders a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to receive, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and use the review in connection with the promotion, publication, marketing, evaluation, and operation of the reviewed work and the Site.

Personal account information shall not be shared with authors or publishers except where required by law.

20. No Member Communications Platform

The Site does not provide public discussion forums, member-to-member messaging, or direct communication systems between readers and authors.

Authors and publishers do not receive member contact information.

21. Service Modifications

The Site reserves the right to modify, suspend, restrict, discontinue, or remove any portion of its services, features, rewards programs, redemption methods, books, or functionality at any time.

The Site shall not be liable for any resulting loss or inconvenience.

22. No Guarantee of Availability

The Site does not guarantee:

  • Availability of books;
  • Availability of review opportunities;
  • Availability of rewards;
  • Earnings;
  • Future participation opportunities.

Book availability is limited and subject to change.

23. Taxes

Members are solely responsible for determining, reporting, and paying any taxes or governmental obligations arising from participation in the program.

The Site does not provide tax advice.

24. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.

The Site makes no warranties regarding:

  • Availability;
  • Reliability;
  • Accuracy;
  • Security;
  • Fitness for a particular purpose;
  • Error-free operation.

Use of the Site is at the member’s own risk.

25. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paid To Read Books Club, MMT Productions, its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Site.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Loss of credits;
  • Delayed payouts;
  • Denied payouts;
  • Service interruptions;
  • Email delivery failures;
  • Goodreads outages;
  • PayPal outages;
  • Internet failures;
  • Data loss.

26. Indemnification

Members agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Paid To Read Books Club, MMT Productions, and their affiliates, owners, employees, contractors, and service providers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:

  • Violation of these Terms;
  • Misuse of the Site;
  • Unauthorized distribution of EPUB files;
  • Copyright infringement;
  • Fraudulent activity;
  • Violation of applicable law.

27. Appeals

Members may request review of a strike, review rejection, payout denial, suspension, restriction, or account termination through the Site’s contact form.

The Site may uphold, modify, or reverse any decision.

All final decisions remain within the sole discretion of Paid To Read Books Club.

28. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.

29. Changes to These Terms

The Site reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time.

Updated Terms will be posted on the Site with a revised effective date.

Continued use of the Site following publication of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
